Optimal health through diet

Nutritional Therapy

What you can expect

“You are what you eat” is a common adage, heard frequently in today’s society of growing obesity, allergies and environment-related illnesses. To be more accurate, we are what we digest and absorb through our diet!

With so much information available – often conflicting – about diet and how we should eat, it can often be confusing and frustrating choosing the right foods for ourselves and our families. A nutritional therapist can help you understand what foods your body needs to stay healthy. I work with conditions such as:
low energy / stress, thyroid issues, PMS & menopause, digestive issues / IBS, arthritis & back pain, weight management and osteoporosis.

This is done through personal consultations which provide you with a detailed and specific nutritional strategy to suit your health requirements.  I also advise on supplements, where needed, and on functional testing, such as stool testing for IBS, food sensitivity testing and hormone testing. In early 2025 I completed my training with Lifecode Gx, and I can advise on and provide nutri-genetic testing. This is of of the most exciting, developing areas of nutrition in my opinion. Click here for more information.

I have been a Registered Nutritional Therapist since 2005, with a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and am on the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council register of practitioners (CNHC).

Consultations

Once we have established that Nutritional Therapy is right for you, you will be asked to fill out a detailed questionnaire and food diary. These will check your past medical history, current health problems and your usual diet.

Initial Consultation
The first consultation lasts one and a quarter hours, during which a full case history is taken and your food diary is gone through. Initial recommendations will be given, which usually entail dietary changes but may sometimes include nutritional supplements if it is felt these would be beneficial. Genetic testing through Lifecode Gx can pinpoint which specific vitamins and minerals you may need (please click here for more information).

Follow-up consultations last 50 minutes, at which your progress and symptom changes are checked and further dietary advice and/or supplements given. If testing is recommended this will be fully discussed with you during the consultation.
